The Tentmakers Institute is designed to work alongside established American missionaries rather than compete with or replace the work they are already doing.

Missionaries often spend years learning a language, understanding a culture, building relationships, establishing churches, and discipling national leaders. Through those years of faithful service, they frequently develop relationships with pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and other national Christian leaders who desire deeper biblical and ministry training.

We want to come alongside those missionaries and help train the men already within their care and influence.

The missionary's knowledge of the country, culture, churches, and individual pastors is invaluable. Rather than entering a country independently and attempting to build everything from the ground up, The Tentmakers Institute seeks to form meaningful partnerships with missionaries who understand the field and can help identify faithful men who would benefit from the program.

We bring structured biblical training, curriculum, discipleship, vocational development, and the broader resources of The Tentmakers Institute. The missionary brings established relationships, cultural understanding, field experience, and knowledge of the national ministry.

Together, we can invest more deeply in national pastors.

Our desire is to strengthen—not supplant—the missionary's work. By training the men missionaries have already spent years discipling and developing, we can help strengthen local churches, prepare future leaders, expand pastoral training, and multiply Gospel ministry throughout the country.

A strengthened national pastor can continue serving his people long after an outside teacher leaves.

That is why missionary partnership is not merely a logistical part of our ministry model. It is one of the primary ways The Tentmakers Institute seeks to serve missionaries, strengthen national leadership, and advance the Gospel around the world.
